Features

Down-Fired Fire Tube – The EFW heat exchanger is ASME certified, burner is down-fired. The tubes have a dimpled design to optimize heat transfer, which increases energy efficiency. The Fire Tubes provide generous space for flue gas to pass, and significantly reduce the need for cleaning due to the vertical configuration and self-cleaning operation when in condensing mode.

Flexibility – The design of the EFW offers more flexibility than any other boiler on the market, with vent runs of up to 150ft for the 285 and 100ft for the 340-399, five vent termination options, 2" optional venting on some models and plumbing and gas connections at either top or bottom.

User Interface – Provides easy navigation to all of the controller’s parameters and setpoints. The backlit screen continuously displays system information to ensure safe and efficient operation.

The Control – The HTP EFW boiler has an advanced Honeywell control that provides easy navigation and offers complete auto-diagnostics. All the information needed to set up, monitor boiler functions and service is easy to access. The easy-to-use control allows for multiple circulators and temperature zones and has an integrated cascade feature to join multiple boilers.

1. Listed Input and Output ratings are at minimum vent lengths at an altitude of 0-2000ft. Numbers will be lower with longer venting and/or altitudes greater than 2000ft.
2. Ratings based on standard test procedures prescribed by the U.S. Department of Energy; certified by AHRI.
3. EFW units require a special venting system, use only vent materials and methods detailed in these instructions.

High Altitude Operation –The EFW is designed to operate at its maximum listed capacity in installations located at 0-2000ft above sea level. Since the density of air decreases as elevation increases, maximum specified capacity should be de-rated for elevations above 2000 ft as per below.

Elevations 2001 ft. 3000 ft. 4000 ft. 4500 ft.
In USA¹ de-rate by 10% de-rate by 16% de-rate by 18% de-rate by 20%

1. USA: De-rate capacity by 4% for every 1000 ft if altitude is above 2000 ft. .

Combustion – The combustion of the boiler must be checked with a calibrated combustion analyzer by a trained and certified technician in accordance with local regulations. This will ensure the safe and reliable operation of the boiler. It is the technician/installers responsibility to properly check the combustion in accordance with the section dedicated to combustion located in the installation manual. Failure to follow these instructions may result in property damage, serious injury or death.
